30A Real Estate Still Hot – Bottom is Here

2012, 30A to Destin Real Estate will be a year to remember.

As the days, months and years go by we will look back and know exactly where the bottom of the 30A and Destin real estate market is. My prediction will be 2012.

Why do I think this to be the case? Along 30A there are communities where prices have (and still are) increasing. Watersound and Watersound West Beach are HOT. It took 6 offers to get one lot under contract in Watersound. I’m currently negotiating a home in Watersound West Beach where my buyer is in complete and utter shock that the builder won’t “throw” in any extras to get the deal done… In fact, the prices are going up! We haven’t seen this happen in years!

Destiny East, in Destin FL, has also seen the bottom. About a year ago (and earlier this year) you could purchase a home in the $350,000 to $450,000 range. Now, the least expensive home for sale, in Destiny East is $549,000.

These are just a few examples. Inventory is still the lowest it’s been since 2006.
