October weather along the Emerald Coast is one that cannot be beat by many. Warm, sunny days and cool evening breezes make this area a true Camelot.  The beaches may beckon you to sit and enjoy the weather but there are also so many activities offered for your enjoyment during this lovely fall month.

October 13th is the annual Emerald Coast Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Poll”, sponsored by the Florida Lottery, Grand Boulevard, Silver Sands Factory Stores, ResortQuest, Cumulus Radio, Regions Bank, Fudpucker’s, Copy Systems, Proffitt PR, SoWal.com, Carter & Company, and Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village, supporting the Junior League of the Emerald Coast.

The evening event offers food, wine, beer and drinks from winning restaurants along with entertainments, fun and fashion. The advanced purchase of admission is $25. Per person. Tickets may also be purchased for $35. The day of the event of a VIP ticket may be obtained for $40. You may secure tickets at the following locations: Today’s Boutique, near Publix in Destin

October 19-20th is the Baytowne Beer Festival Rolling Out The Barrel, held at the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Over 200 beers will be represented from national to international brands and there will also be 40 crated breweries. The festival tickets are available for $25 , through October 19 and the day of the event they will be $30.

 

On the 19th, John Holl, an award winning author, journalist and beer expert will give a seminar focusing on “Three Decades of Craft Beer: A Taste of History and Today”. In addition to this wonderful learning experience, for a mere $35, you can partake in a walkabout, hosted by Marlin Grill, with “Beer from Around Here” all paired with delicious gourmet grilled meat and side items.

Seaside Repertory is presently staging “Den of Thieves” through October 20, 7:30pm, at the Seaside Meeting Hall Theatre. Tickets, $25, may be purchased at Amavida Coffee in Seaside or Rosemary or Call 850-231-0733. For more information, go to Seaside Repertory.

October 26th there will be the 6th annual fall Festival at Topsail Hill Sate Park, located at 7525 West Scenic Highway 30A,Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 commencing at 6:00pm. There will be carnival with games, food, story telling, sculpting and the 20 tram ride known as the TRAM OF TERROR.

October 27-28 the Destin Festival of the Arts will once again be held at Henderson State Park, 17000 Emerald Coast Parkway, Destin. Admission is only $3 for adults and children under 12 are free. There will be over 40 artists represented and you can enjoy the displays while listening to live music and eating bistro style food. Festival hours are:

Saturday, October 27 – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday, October 28 – 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • 4:00pm – 6:00pm Trick or Treat in Seaside
  • 6:00pm – 8:00pm Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne followed by Fireworks!
  • 5:00pm – to 7:00pm Destin Commons
  • 5:00pm-7:00pm – Silver Sands
